Our family took a roadtrip to Yellowstone National Park, Cranbrook BC, Banff AB, Calgary AB and a token night stay in Moose Jaw SK on the last night! We had a really good time. The kids travelled quite well - they enjoyed the scenery and the DVD's! We had a great time visiting with Ernie's cousins in Cranbrook (that was the reason for the trip!), and some friends in Calgary. We also enjoyed Old Faithful, other geysers, hiking, swimming, mountain climbing (Owen, Caleb and Ernie climbed Tunnel Mt. in Banff), playing games, going to the beach, Fort Steele and the Calgary Zoo. Whew - we were busy, but it was great. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had...

Ernie, Caleb & Owen at the top of Mt. Tunnel in Banff. It was about a 1 km hike up the mountain - they were all so proud of themselves.

This hike is so beautiful, but it makes me nauseous - I hate the catwalks!!
Lake Louis - we had a nice lunch on the boardwalk along the lake. Next time we hope to do the hike and maybe canoing!
Benjamin throwing a bit of a tantrum! Tired, hungry and a long drive don't mix well!

Welcome home! It looks like a fun trip- makes me miss "the west"! And oh I hear you on the Johnston's Canyon hike- hate those catwalks!!! Mind you that triggers many emotions of day hikes there in the past that went along drop offs that were far to high with much to narrow paths and cables to hold onto... And I'm not good with heights...
I'm glad you got in some visits and camping- everyone keeps reminding me how it's getting closer to school time and I really don't want our summer to end!
Ramona
